The Supermicro SuperStorage 6048R-E1CR36N, (SSG-6048R-E1CR36N) is a robust storage storage servers designed for high-performance applications as well as various enterprise and data center applications. The SuperStorage 6048R-E1CR36N is built around the Supermicro Super X10DRi-T4+ motherboard and the SuperChassis 847BE1C-R1K28LPB, (CSE-847BE1C-R1K28LPB).

The SuperChassis 847BE1C-R1K28LPB supports 36x 3.5" (LFF) hot-swap SAS/SATA/SSD drives with the BPN-SAS3-846EL1 and BPN-SAS3-826EL1 backplane supporting up to 12Gbps interface.

The Super X10DRi-T4+ motherboard supports up to 2x Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 22-core processors and 24x DDR4 memory for up to 768GB 2133MHz ECC RDIMM or up to 3TB 3DS ECC LRDIMM. With 6x PCIe expansion slots and the onboard quad Intel X540 10GbE Base-T, the SuperStorage 6048R-E1CR36N has all the resources needed for small/entry level businesses to be able to grow into as well as enterprise and data centers need to expand.

I bought one of these for large-scale media storage using FreeNAS. The product was delivered on-time, configured exactly as ordered. Cable management inside was done well, and storage controllers flashed correctly to IT mode. And the shipment was packaged well to protect the server. When I called with a question post-delivery, I was pleasantly surprised to find that a human answered the phone! It's so rare (and appreciated!) to find a person rather than an automated phone tree. Kenneth did a great job sorting me out in under 5 minutes. The price, quality, and support is spot on. I'm very happy that I stumbled onto this website, and I would recommend these guys to others.

Overall Great Experience

PROS - In excellent condition - Really clean - Great price - Packaged very well, even FedEx couldn't damage the server (looks like they tried) - Arrived fast - Configured as requested - Everything works - Cable management was done exceptionally well - Sliding rails make it nice - Came with newest BIOS installed CONS - One of the screws that secures the case lid was stripped, not a big deal, got it out/replaced - No screws were included for the 3.5" trays, all screws were for 2.5" drives - RAM was not installed in proper slots - Hair found in CPU socket OTHER THOUGHTS - When the server arrived I noticed that there was heavy damage to the box. Luckily this server was protected very well with thick foam. I did not notice any damage to the server itself. - When inspecting the server I noticed that the RAM was not installed in the correct slots as per the motherboard manual causing it to run at suboptimal speed. I moved the RAM into the appropriate slots and when I powered the unit on I started receiving memory errors on P2-DIMMF1. After verifying the RAM was okay I decided to check the associated CPU. Upon further investigation I found a human hair in the CPU socket. I carefully extracted the hair and used compressed air to ensure that no other debris was in the CPU socket and reinstalled the CPU. Upon booting the server the memory errors were gone, the system recognized all of the memory, and it is running at the proper speeds. - A few little hiccups encountered but I am giving this experience five stars. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I would highly recommend The Server Store to anyone looking for quality refurbished servers.

Love this server. Perfect for unRAID. Has enough room for data drives, parity drives, and pool drives for cache and VMs. The IT mode raid controller works out of the box with unRAID. I upgraded to this system from an old Norco 4224 case and unRAID came right up and recognized all my devices. With the dual CPUs and ton of memory, there is more than enough space for my docker containers and running VMs. Theserverstore shipped quickly and packaging was top notch. Highly recommend!
