AMD EPYC Workstation is built around the Supermicro workstation chassis CSE-747BTQ-R1K62B. The CSE-747BTQ-R1K62B features a spacious interior that can accommodate up to eight full-height, full-length expansion cards, making it suitable for demanding applications requiring multiple GPUs or other expansion cards. This chassis supports motherboards in the Extended ATX (E-ATX) form factor and 8x 3.5" front load 3.5" drives, providing compatibility with a wide range of workstation-grade components.
The motherboard is the ASRock ROME2D16-2T, a high-performance server motherboard designed for enterprise-level computing and data center applications. The ROME2D16-2T supports up to 2x AMD EPYC 7003/7002 series processors, which are known for exceptional performance, scalability, and advanced features. With 8x DDR4 memory slots per processor, (16x total), this motherboard will support up to 4TB of memory. The ROME2D16-2T also has 6x PCIe 4.0 slots, (5x PCIe x16 and 1x PCIe x8), 2x PCIe 4.0 m.2 drives, (SATA or NVMe) and 2x 10GbE RJ45 ports via the integrated Intel X550-AT2 controller.
